Insect control
Insects are the most successful creatures in the animal kingdom. Most are harmless, useful and necessary for our ecosystem. Insects, spiders and crustaceans, however, can damage our supplies and materials, as well as parasitise humans, domestic animals and livestock or transfer diseases. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, pest control officers today are discreet and ensure preventive monitoring together with reliable and effective control of insects and similar.

Fleas
Fleas are small, blood-sucking and wingless insects. They parasitically infest mammals such as dogs, cats and birds, but can also infect humans and transmit viruses and diseases. With an infestation, it is primarily the humans and animals in the grip of parasites that should be treated. If there are signs of a flea infestation in outdoor areas, thorough professional cleaning of all possible infested locations, such as sheds, terraces, garages and dog kennels etc. is a must.

Moths
Moths are small butterflies. They damage stored supplies and material, and the larvae contaminate food and textiles. This requires professional pest control.

Storage pests
Storage pests can be found where food is stored or processed – in granaries, in the food industry, in mills, bakeries and catering kitchens, as well as in commerce and in stockpiles. As a result of transportation to the retail trade, this infested food or packaging reaches consumers. The best-known storage pests are larder beetle species, granary weevils, grain borers, rice flour beetles, yeast beetles, cereal flat beetles or corn moths. Persistent infestation requires professional pest control.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches are medium to large insects, omnivores and hence extremely capable of survival. In mild winters and humid summers, cockroaches in buildings, kitchens and sewerage systems find numerous development opportunities and can spread various different diseases. A cockroach infestation is generally controlled by the laying of bait.

Bed bugs
These small bed bugs are often introduced from travelling in other countries. They are found in houses, hotels, sleeping accommodation, in beds and in pet beds. In the night, they feed on fresh blood from humans and pets. Their bites can cause reddening or infections. Although professional control with highly effective insecticides requires several treatments, this is strongly encouraged with a bed bug infestation.

Ants
Ants are usually found in large colonies. They pose no risk to health, but are perceived as annoying and can cause damage to the home, garden and surrounding area. The most common ant species in Switzerland are the meadow ants, black garden ants and Pharaoh ants. The control of Pharaoh ants is especially difficult and should be carried out professionally by means of bait.

Silberfisch
Silverfish are silver grey in colour, nocturnal and can be found in warm and humid rooms such as kitchen, bathroom and utility room. They can attack books, wallpaper and food as well as spread germs and viruses. The use of a pest control officer is recommended with a severe silverfish infestation.

Woodlice
Woodlice are small greyish to black crustaceans, need very high humidity and can be found in basements, in or under flower pots, garden slabs or other moist objects. Woodlice do not transmit diseases, but are perceived as annoying and disgusting. In the event of a frequent occurrence, an expert pest control officer should be consulted.

Spiders
Spiders occur in various different sizes colours and markings, have eight legs and are hairless or hairy. They are harmless and prevent numerous annoying insects from moving in on us. Spiders can live well in or around buildings, but are usually not popular in the home environment. They are driven out with individual techniques.

Wasps
There are various, usually harmless, wasp species in Switzerland. They are found in roofs, blind casings, trees or garden sheds. Some species exhibit extremely aggressive behaviour and may sting (caution allergy sufferers!). Controlling wasps with chemical products or electric traps is unreasonable. However, wasp nests near sensitive places such as nursery schools or public buildings require professional pest control.

Flies/fruit flies
Flies feed on protein, faeces, sweet stuff and other food. They are usually annoying, can transmit harmful germs and viruses and contaminate food. Flies are easiest to control with insect screens or mechanical barriers.
Disinfection and flood damage
- Clearing out
- Disinfection
- Mould / mildew
- Spores
- Bacteria
- Germs

Clearing out and disinfection
IPM-Fuhrer Pest Control clears out, disinfects and controls existing pest infestations in “messy” apartments or in apartments left by “rental nomads”. Subsequently, we carry out odour neutralisation of the affected areas and a thorough cleaning. Since the measures are extensive and individual, we will gladly advise you on site and submit a tailor-made solution concept for your problematic situation – always with the utmost discretion, from the clearing out to handover of the apartment!

Mould / mildew, spores, bacteria and germs in the house / apartment
IPM-Fuhrer Pest Control offers environmentally compatible systems for the remediation of mould / mildew, spores, germs and bacteria. This may have occurred, for example, in the attic, basement or living space due to water damage, flooding or other events. We provide fast, cost-effective and safe remediation measures, thanks to which dismantling is not needed. Ozone treatment of mould-contaminated rooms / buildings with the UV-C ozone generator eneables us to destroy mould in the walls without adding chemicals, and kill off the spores. Mouldy odours are neutralised and the space is habitable again in no time at all. After ozone remediation, there is no reason to fear any further health problems caused by mould / spores.
Insect screens and mechanical systems
- Insect screens
- Entry control
- Light well covers
- Flying insect traps
- UV traps
- Pigeon and bird deterrents

Insect screens / entry control / light well covers
We humans love bright, airy rooms – because light and air signify life and comfort. But we do not want to have all living creatures in our apartment. An insect screen is ideal against uninvited guests such as flies, wasps or mosquitoes. We will gladly make this to order for you according to your individual wishes. A light well cover will also protect your cellar from insects and dirt, and is easily and safely accessible, robust, well-designed and unbreakable.

Flying insect traps / UV traps
Flying insects (flies, wasps, moths, mosquitos, etc.) are usually perceived as very annoying. In addition, there is the risk of the transmission of diseases carried by flying insects. Effective flying insect control requires more than just hanging up a UV device. Only with the correct siting can effective insect control be guaranteed. One suitable method is the use of non-toxic UV devices. Flying insects are attracted by the UV light and stick to an adhesive surface in the UV device.

Pigeon and bird deterrents
Pigeon and bird droppings cause nuisance odours. In addition, they can introduce viruses and parasites and with their nesting material can damage facades, roof trusses, canopies or clog up gutters and drains. They are controlled by the use of various mechanical deterrent systems.
Rodent and bird control
The damage caused by rodents is considerable. It includes the destruction and gnawing through of electrical cables, insulation, insulation film and moisture barriers in roofs, as well as contamination resulting from faeces and urine which cause enormous nuisance odours. In addition, rodents can spread serious diseases, such as the hantavirus, which is why professional pest control is required.

Rat and mice control

Marten control and deterrents
From damaging property by gnawing to transmitting threatening pathogens – these cute-looking rodents with sharp teeth are in a class of their own. A nocturnal marten likes to take up residence in the roofs of residential buildings, storage rooms, barns or stables and damages insulation, insulation foil and power lines. It leaves behind traces of faeces and urine and often drags prey into its abode. This then decomposes there and leads to enormous nuisance odours. In the long term, martens can only be driven away with the technical aids and individual measures taken by a pest control officer, which may involve structural or lighting work.

Pigeon and bird deterrents
Pigeon and bird droppings cause nuisance odours. In addition, they can introduce viruses and parasites and with their nesting material can damage facades, roof trusses, canopies or clog up gutters and drains. They are controlled by setting up various mechanical deterrent systems.
